Hi:

2 docuemts you should ask for are SIUP and NPWP. ALL legal Indonesian Companies must have them.

SIUP numbers stand for Surat Ijin Usaha Perdagangan (Trading License Numbers), issued by industry and trade dept of local govermnet (City, or province where 'company' operated). Since SIUP is issued by local government, the only way to check validity of SIUP numbers is contacting local government. Unluckily there is no online service check for license numbers in Indonesia

For NPWP (registered tax number), can be assumed that the company has a valid NPWP if it has a valid SIUP, since it was pre-term in submitting proposal for SIUP to industry and trade dept of its local government.

Thats great but how do you know whether or not the SIUP and NPWP documents are the real thing, I cant seem to get hold of anyone from the department of trade of tax to return any of my e-mails. I have sent copies of these documents to them to verify them for me and I just get no response.

Very irritated, dismayed and bemused by Indonesia as a trading country at this point.

It is good and our right to know some information if the company is legal. These two Indonesian Companies will have at least follow the proper procedure in the registration of the companies. I myself will have to email the authority also and ask how I would be able to know that the one I'll get is real. SEO Services
